Hair Growth Remedies

I’ve been trying to grow my hair out for about a year now and have barely made any progress.
I’ve heard that taking Biotin is good for hair growth but I’m always a little weary about taking pills.
Has any one tried Biotin with good results? Also, any other tips on faster hair growth?

I have shoulder length hair and it has never been longer than that. I want long healthy hair, but not having to order a something online. I want to be able to go buy it in a store. My friend told me about a hair growth product from whole foods, but i dont know whether to buy it or not. ANY RECOMMENDATIONS?
